Minusio
general information
Minusio is a charming municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino, located directly on the shores of Lake Maggiore. With around 7,300 inhabitants, it is one of the larger communities in the region, yet it retains its peaceful and relaxed character. The official language is Italian, which, along with the mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, gives the area a distinctly southern flair.
Thanks to its central location, Minusio is well connected to public transport and just a few minutes from Locarno and Ascona. Whether on foot, by bike, or by bus – many nearby attractions are easily accessible. Its proximity to the mountains and its location right on the lake make Minusio an ideal starting point for nature experiences, cultural discoveries, or simply relaxing days by the water.
