General Information
Davos with its 12'500 inhabitants at an altitude of 1560 m/ 5118 feet is not only Europe's most extensive Alpine holiday, sports and convention resort, but also offers an unforgettable mountain scenery in the heart of the spectacular alpine atmosphere. Thomas Mann for example immortalized the place in his book "The Magic Mountain". Thanks to the dry and pollen-free air numerous health research institutes have settled, founding Davos' worldwide reputation as a health spa place. Since 1971 the annual World Economic Forum, which attracts leading personalities of politics, economy and arts, has contributed to Davos' fame as convention center.
